JL Motorsports Welcomes Back Creechers Design

JL Motorsports is proud to announce that Jordan Latimer’s No. 90 Limited Late Model at Sunset Speedway will be sponsored by Creechers Design for the 10th year.

Creechers Design is known for their cutting edge designs, ranging from different types of signs and logo design to magnets and vehicle wraps. Be sure to check them out for all of your design needs on their website at http://creechersdesign.com/.

Latimer is currently in the process of getting ready for his fourth season of competition at Sunset Speedway.

“The goal for 2018 season is to go out and be better we were in 2017,” he said. “Hopefully grab a couple feature wins and I’m confident in the work we are going to be putting in this winter we can compete for a championship.”

With nine top-fives and 17 top-10’s, Latimer put together an impressive season at Sunset Speedway en route to placing seventh in the year-end standings. He was also able to score his first career Late Model victory on September 2.

“2017 was a big year,” he said. “I don’t remember a night all summer where we unloaded and didn’t feel like we weren’t going to be running up front competing for the win! Looking back on the season as a hole I think it was a huge success. We only had one weekend where we were caught up in a wreck so that’s huge! Gave us a lot of time to work on set up and not on body work. We had multiple shots for a win this season, whether it was off a late restart, tire strategy, or just starting position compared to other drivers. But it felt really good going out this season competing up front compared to our prior season and the luck we had then.”

Creechers Design joins previously announced KICX 106, 104.1 The Dock, WIX Filters, and Kitchen Tire as sponsors for 2018.

Jordan Latimer’s Velocity 250 Ends Early Due to Crash

IMG_4646While Jordan Latimer started off his Velocity 250 run strong, a pair of incidents resulted in him having to pull into the pits before the completion of the event.

As noted, the JL Motorsports driver started off the weekend strong, finishing fifth in his first heat, before battling back and forth with Tom Walters for the lead in the second qualifier en route to a runner-up.

Starting up front for the feature, he would make his way up to fifth in the early stages, running there when the first caution flew at Lap 2.

Following the restart, he continued to move forward, getting alongside Gord Shepherd for third at Lap 11, but unable to complete the pass. From there, he continued to run fourth till he was able to pass Travis Hallyburton for third on Lap 21. He remained there until the second caution flew at Lap 24.

Restarting third, he ran behind the pair of leaders, before being challenged for the third spot. He was then passed by Travis Hallyburton on Lap 32, bumping him back to fourth. He would be challenged once again for position at Lap 37, resulting in contact three laps later that saw his fellow competitor go around. As an involved car, he was sent to the tail of the field.

Restarting last, he began to make his way back through the traffic until contact from Ernie Fumerton sent him around, causing rear-end damage to the No. 90 Late Model. The damage was significant enough that the team elected to pull behind the wall, done for the event. He was credited with a 16th-place finish.

Despite some frustrating moments, JL Motorsports leaves the 2017 campaign behind them full of smiles, following 17 top-10’s throughout the year and a seventh-place finish in the year-end standings.

JL Motorsports is proud to be supported by KICX 106, The Dock 104.1, Tax Smart, Kitchen Tire, RIM Mechanical, Gambridge Go Karts, Krueger Electric Hazlett Trucking, and Creechers Design for the 2017 season.

Jordan Latimer Completes Season with Pair of Top-Fives

After going through an up-and-down season, from his first career feature victory to some frustrating nights, Jordan Latimer finished up on a high note with a pair of top-fives.

Latimer began the night well, qualifying fifth for the first 35-lap feature, and running sixth until the race’s lone caution flew on Lap 31. He’d battle hard on the restart, gaining a spot to cross the finish line in sixth.

The positive momentum carried into the second feature as he started third, battling with Travis Hallyburton for second in the early stages. He would come out on top, clearing Hallyburton on Lap 7. From there, he was able to close the gap between him and Maltese, riding the back bumper as he looked for a way by. He would make his move for the lead on Lap 24, taking the top spot a lap later.

His advantage did not last for long, though, as division champion Gord Shepherd passed him for the top spot with five laps to go. He continued to put up solid laps, though, and crossed the finish line in second.

Despite some frustrating moments, JL Motorsports leaves the 2017 campaign behind them full of smiles, following 17 top-10’s throughout the year and a top-10 points finish. Their official ranking in the standings will be confirmed by the track in the coming days.

JL Motorsports is proud to be supported by KICX 106, The Dock 104.1, Tax Smart, Kitchen Tire, RIM Mechanical, Gambridge Go Karts, Krueger Electric Hazlett Trucking, and Creechers Design for the 2017 season.

Jordan Latimer Endures Rough Night at Sunset Speedway

After celebrating his first career Late Model victory last weekend, Jordan Latimer was poised to come out with another strong run on Saturday night. Unfortunately, luck saw the night not go as planned for the JL Motorsports team.

The third-generation driver managed to qualify sixth for the first feature despite blowing a head gasket in qualifying. With repairs made, he ran up front early, battling side-by-side with Lane Zardo for fifth in the early stages. He slipped back to sixth, and remained there until he made his way down pit road on Lap 15. Unfortunately, a broken rocker stud took him out of the event early.

The team would make the necessary repairs once again, and had him ready for the second feature later on that night.

Starting from 17th, he began to make his way forward, running 14th as of the race’s lone caution at Lap 5. He continued to move forward, moving into 12th at the halfway mark. He would move up another position to 11th, but with time focused on repairs and not on adjustments ahead of the event, an ill-handling car saw him cross the finish line there.

Jordan Latimer will return to Sunset Speedway on September 16 in hopes of scoring his 15th top-10 of the season on the final points night of 2017. He entered this past Saturday night sitting eighth in the track standings, just 21 markers behind seventh.

JL Motorsports is proud to be supported by KICX 106, The Dock 104.1, Tax Smart, Kitchen Tire, RIM Mechanical, Gambridge Go Karts, Krueger Electric Hazlett Trucking, and Creechers Design for the 2017 season.
