Jordan Latimer Fights Through Contact for Top-10 at Sauble Speedway
Putting down a lap of 15.849 seconds in qualifying, Jordan Latimer was able to qualify in the third spot. However, with an invert in-place, he would start the 50 lap feature from the fifth position. Off the drop of the green flag, he was able to move up into fourth, remaining there until the first caution at Lap 6.
Restarting in the second row, he once again moved up a position, now up to third, remaining there until the caution just before the halfway mark at Lap 21. Battling side-by-side for second on the restart, Latimer cleared Todd Davenport, but was passed back shortly thereafter, ultimately falling fading back to fourth by the next caution at Lap 26.
Restarting on the second row, he’d battle with Davenport once again, this time for fifth, avoiding contact ahead of him to remain in contention. He wasn’t so lucky on the restart, as when the leaders made contact ahead, he was hit from behind, spun right into the midst of the action, resulting in damage to the door of the No. 90 Super Stock. Latimer was able to keep going, though now scored back in 10th.
Restarting on the fifth row, he avoided another incident ahead of him, utilizing the close quarter action to move up to seventh before the next yellow with seven laps to go. Restarting on the fourth row, he’d move up another spot to sixth before yet another caution.
The final restart he was unable to make up anymore ground, ultimately crossing the finish line with a seventh-place finish.
Thank you to Craig Ellis and the sponsors for the opportunity, as well as the rest of the team for their hard work all day long.
